Energy/environment - Cleantech

Cleantech is chosen as one of the mega topics and priorities for business development in Central Region of Denmark according to the strategy of the region’s Growth Forum. It is also among the strongest development priorities in Shanghai Province and thus well suited for future successful cooperation between businesses and knowledge institutions in both regions. It is a wide theme covering energy reducing/saving technologies, renewable energy technologies, biomass etc. and other environmental protection issues and technologies.

The following initiatives have already paved the way for cooperation within the theme between actors in the two regions and could be used as a platform for new development and business cooperations:

  •  In October 2009 visiting researchers and specialists from Aarhus University, CBMI in Foulum, Agro Tech, Risø DTU and the Danish Agricultural Advisory Shanghai, Nanjing and Hangzhou in order to facilitate opportunities for cooperation with Chinese enterprises and research institutions within biomass for bioenergy field.
  • The Shanghai office of Central Region of Denmark participating in the network DENSOL (Danish Energy and Environmental Solutions) with the regions of Southern Denmark, Northern Denmark and Zealand. The network initiates activities to promote the Danish energy model and public-private partnerships against Chinese policy makers and citizen groups - including an event at the EXPO in May 2010.
